SINGAPORE — Jack Della Maddalena doesn’t care who he shares the cage with, as long as they pose a challenge.
Opening the main card at UFC 275, Maddalena (12-2 MMA, 2-0 UFC) picked up her second straight first round, knocking Ramazan Emeev out of the fight in less than three minutes. It was the first time Emeev (20-6 MMA, 5-3 UFC) was finished during his UFC run.
“It was great, no one ever stopped Ramazan,” Maddalena told reporters at the post-fight press conference. “That was the goal, and to be able to achieve that goal, it’s a goal accomplished. Let’s go to the next one.
The finish earned the Aussie welterweight a $50,000 bonus to make the victory even more ‘impressive’.
Maddalena, a veteran of Dana White’s Contender Series, has now won both of his UFC appearances and wasted no time raising his hand. Both fights took place this year, and if he is successful, Maddalena wants at least two more before the end of 2022.
“My goal has been to get four fights this year,” Maddalena said. “I think it’s still well within the realm of possibility. So yes, four fights. No real date in particular, anytime.
As for who he would like to share the cage with next time, Maddalena isn’t picky, but he would like a tough opponent.
“Just anyone, anyone, you know?” said Madeleine. “I am ready for the challenge. Anyone who poses a threat, I’m good to go.
