Khabib Nurmagomedov’s longtime manager Ali Abdelaziz has again mocked Tony Ferguson in their ongoing war of words. Abdelaziz warned Ferguson that he shouldn’t overlook the implications of battling the undefeated MMA stalwart from Dagestan.

Despite Nurmagomedov’s retirement over a year ago, Ferguson continues to fight against ‘The Eagle’. ‘El Cucuy’ recently referenced the Russian’s weight loss issues, prompting the following response from Abdelaziz:

“You’re so jealous like an old girlfriend that she can have a man”

Ferguson hit back at Abdelaziz with a tweet that reads:

“You say it wrong. I thought I taught you better than you. You A***oles forget where you get your sentences from like any other casual. Sit down and be quiet before the ankle picks you up. *mack* More boring than a clingy ex, big heads still relevant – Champ -CSO-“

@AliAbdelaziz00 You say it wrong 🤦‍♂️ I thought I taught you better Ya ‘Thot. You assholes forget where you get your sentences like any other casual. Sit down and be quiet before the ankle picks you up. *mack* ✋ More boring than a clingy ex, big heads still relevant – Champ🖕🕶 -CSO- 🇺🇸🏆🇲🇽 https://t.co/vB7OaNtrjN

Not one to be outdone, Abdelaziz applauded the former interim champion, tweeting:

“You only keep talking about Khabib to stay relevant, he would have ruined your life if you ever fought him. I only wish you the best in your life, I won’t even answer you anymore”

@TonyFergusonXT You only keep talking about Khabib to stay relevant, he would have ruined your life if you ever fought him. I only wish you the best in your life, I won’t even answer you anymore

For many years, Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson represented the best in the UFC lightweight division. Both athletes claim to be the greatest lightweight MMA fighter in the world. Needless to say, the UFC has tried to schedule a fight between “The Eagle” and “El Cucuy” on several occasions. Unfortunately, their scheduled match fell apart each time.

Their fight was canceled five times. Injuries, travel restrictions and botched weight cuts saw the highly anticipated fight never materialize.

Nurmagomedov ended up retiring as the undefeated UFC lightweight champion in October 2020, ending all hopes of a dream matchup between him and Ferguson.

Daniel Cormier thinks a Tony Ferguson vs. Michael Chandler match would “work magic”

Tony Ferguson has been out of action since losing a unanimous decision to Beneil Dariush last year. Rumor has it that “El Cucuy” will fight fellow lightweight star Michael Chandler next. Daniel Cormier thinks the match will be a great fight.

Cormier, during an interview with Helen Yee, gave his thoughts on a possible Ferguson-Chandler matchup. The former two-division champion said:

“Him [Michael Chandler] and Tony Ferguson together would do magic and I think that’s the type of fight Chandler should have now because now he’s only had big fights, he deserves nothing less. I think for Tony Ferguson, for his resume, for his career, he needs to continue to have these big matchups that fit his position in the sport of mixed martial arts now.

Ferguson and Chandler are coming off losses in their last fights. Chandler is currently 1-2 in the UFC and will be eager to bounce back. Meanwhile, Ferguson finds himself on a three-game losing streak and will be desperate to find his way back to winning ways.
