Former UFC champion and colors commentator Michael Bisping knows how Conor McGregor acted at the 2021 MTV Music Video Awards on Sunday, insinuating the superstar was wasted on painkillers.
McGregor, the biggest cash cow in the UFC, has been seen in a fight with multi-platinum Machine artist Gun Kelly. After a brief altercation, “The Notorious” threw his glass open at the enigmatic rock star. McGregor can be seen walking around with a black cane as he continues the recovery process. Here’s a video that captured some of the chaos that unfolded.
According to McGregor’s team, the superstar has never requested a photo from MGK despite numerous media reporting it. Other than the fact that MGK attended Conor McGregor‘s last fight, the two don’t know each other.
McGregor was last seen in the Octagon during a trilogy match against Dustin “The Diamond” Poirier. The fight began furiously, and after McGregor was taken to the ground, things only got worse. After getting up at the end of the lap, the Irish superstar threw a punch only to have his ankle shatter beneath him.
The image of McGregor shouting around the corner for a doctor stop was certainly striking. McGregor has been on the mend since then, healing his damaged leg. In Michael Bisping’s eyes, he’s seen this story before. In fact, he saw it for himself.
“I’ve been there,” Bisping said on his “Believe Me” Podcast. “I mean, I wasn’t there to do that at the fucking MTV music awards. What I mean is I had an operation, and the drugs they’re giving you, you’re losing your mind. I think it was mostly (Sunday) because he was crazy, on painkillers because that’s how it goes.
Bisping has undergone various surgeries throughout his MMA career, but withdrew from the sport after his knockout loss to Kelvin Gastelum in Shanghai, China, in late 2017. With experience in making pain relievers for surgeries, Bisping explained, they really change the way your mind works.
“They make you very nervous, very erratic, very angry. Me and Callum, Callum is the calmest kid ever. Callum was arguing with everything I was saying when he had the surgery. They sort of make you like that. I do not know. I’m not looking for excuses from him, but from what I saw, I was like, “Yes, I’ve had this feeling before. Bisping reiterated.
The former middleweight champion is no stranger to going under the knife. Bisping has undergone several surgeries during his career, including neck surgery and surgery to replace both knees. With the way narcotics affected Bisping’s mind, he’s not surprised to see McGregor act against a celebrity in his spare time.
Do you agree with Michael Bisping? Does Conor McGregor abuse painkillers?
