Daniel Cormier revealed his choice of 2021 Fighter of the Year in his series of analyzes on ESPN ‘, DC & RC.
The former two-time UFC champion chose Kamaru Usman as the fighter of the year.
Daniel Cormier explained why he picked the current welterweight champion and said “The Nigerian Nightmare” often fights and overwhelms elite welterweights.
‘DC’ also revealed that he picked Ciryl Gane as his top pick for Fighter of the Year, but then changed his pick to Usman.

Everything is on a new level for [him], said Daniel Cormier.
Daniel Cormier’s choice is no different from the official Fighter of the Year title that was actually awarded to Kamaru Usman at the World MMA Awards.
Kamaru Usman proved to be a dominant champion again in 2021. He beat Gilbert Burns, Colby Covington, and knocked out Jorge Masvidal in their second fight, making him a 3-0 record for himself in 2021. .
Kamaru Usman has a strong record in the UFC and turns out to be one of the greatest welterweights of all time.
Daniel Cormier co-host Ryan Clark chooses Charles Oliveira as Fighter of the Year
Ryan Clark, who co-hosts ESPN’s DC & RC show with Daniel Cormier, chose Charles Oliveira as his pick for 2021 Fighter of the Year.
Clark felt that Charles Oliveira defied the odds by beating top opponents like Michael Chandler and Dustin Poirier.
He also said that “Do Bronx” had been the underdog in each of his fights over the past year. Despite all the skeptics, Oliveira overcame adversity in both fights to impressively win and retain the coveted lightweight title.
Ryan Clark said:
“He’s the dude with the best finishes in UFC history and now he had to go show it. He was injured! And it wasn’t an easy fight against Dustin Poirier. That wasn’t the situation. where he didn’t face adversity and for me it was overcoming the adversity he had to overcome in two huge fights, right?
