Decision date blocked for five-star DL Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy

Lakeland (Florida) Five-star defensive lineman Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy will announce his engagement on October 12, his father Terrance confirmed with 247Sports. Oklahoma and Texas A&M are finalists for Top247 Global Perspective # 3.

Brownlow-Dindy will enroll early in the school of his choice.

Texas A&M is currently receiving the last visit from Brownlow-Dindy who visited Oklahoma for his official visit over the weekend of September 11. This is a return trip to College Station after picking up his official in June and he has also been to Norman several times where his parents attended school.

Elie Robinson led the charge for the Aggies in this recruiting and Jimbo Fisher also made a strong impression.

“When you look at Jimbo Fisher’s background as a coach, his success as a coach speaks for itself,” the elder Brownlow-Dindy has said in the past. “He won a national championship. The man really made such a good impression on us. The guys seem to be familiar with the game and genuinely interested in Gabriel, not what is going to be able to do for the program, but they seem to be interested in him and that meant a lot to us.

Brownlow-Dindy’s parents attended school in Oklahoma, but interest in the program extends far beyond. The official visit moved the needle.

“Oh man, we know him and obviously we’re convinced by the University with our history there,” Terrance said. “Man, that kind of hit a new level in terms of the confidence we have in ourselves. Lincoln riley and his staff and the care they have for us. This is really the essential. Going out of their way to let us know, they will take care of Gabriel if he goes and that means a lot to us as parents.

Andrew Ivins, national analyst for 247Sports, compares Brownlow-Dindy’s game to Olivier Olivier.

I spent part of my youth doing mixed martial arts. Posted elite test numbers for an indoor defensive lineman the summer before his junior season. Explode the ball with the speed of the first step to invade spaces. Coordinated athlete who does not easily lose his balance or his posture. Understands how to fold and use leverage. Keeps the feet moving and plays with constant energy. Mauling tackler with the grip strength to circle ball carriers. Totaled 29.5 tackles for loss and 11.5 sacks in sophomore while playing in the Sunshine State’s second-highest standings. Can win with a simple bull rush at the point of attack, but will also swim his way past blockers. The ability to just shoot from his position and unwind, however, might be his best rush attribute. The athletic profile is one of the best in the class of 2022 for his position, but there are still areas where he can improve his game, such as when it comes to disengaging from doubles teams. Numbers for being an impact player in a Power 5 program and someone who was ultimately selected early in the NFL Draft. “
