Draws in the three disciplines for the U17 Pan American Championships in Buenos Aires, Argentina

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina — The draws have been made in Greco-Roman wrestling, women’s freestyle and men’s freestyle for the U17 Pan American Championships, which begin on Friday.

The United States sent a full team to compete. The boys on the tour will wrestle in both Greco-Roman competitions and freestyle competitions. The girls will compete in freestyle.

Competition begins Friday with Greco-Roman wrestling and continues Saturday with women’s freestyle and Sunday with men’s freestyle.

Qualifying procedures for the men were based on ranking points awarded at the 2022 World Under-17 Team Trials, held as part of the US Open in Las Vegas, Nevada in April. Athletes who placed in the top eight between the two styles, with the highest point value, earned the right to represent the United States at the Pan American Championships. If there was a tie, the athlete with the most pins in the shortest time was awarded the spot.

The World Women’s Under-17 Team Trials, held as part of the Women’s National Championships in Fort Worth, Texas, in May, determined the women’s freestyle representatives, following the seeding order of the second to eighth.

The event will be streamed live on FloWrestling.

Brackets for the contest can be found HERE.
