Charlie Grygas gained weight with the SUNY Oswego wrestling team, but the junior didn’t miss a beat in the first half for the Lakers.
Grygas, of Delanson and a graduate of Duanesburg High, stood out at 165 pounds in freshman and compete at 174 pounds this season. He is currently ranked 10e in Division III and second in the Middle East region with a 14-1 record. He won titles at the New York State Collegiate tournament on November 20 and returned to claim the crown at Rochester Tech’s 55th annual RIT Invitational on December 4. He went 4-0 in every game. Grygas opened the season with a 4-1 record and a second seed at the Ithaca Invitational and he also had two wins in doubles competition.
