Gable Steveson comes to WWE.
WWE has announced that Olympic gold medalist Gable Steveson has officially signed with the company. Steveson won the Olympic gold medal in the 125kg freestyle wrestling in Tokyo.
Steveson will join WWE while defending his NCAA title for the University of Minnesota. He won the National Championship for Minnesota in 2021 in the 285 lb division. Steveson’s deal with WWE is a multi-year contract that will begin after he officially graduates from the University of Minnesota in May.

In the company’s very first NIL contract, Steveson will join the WWE roster while defending his NCAA title for the University of Minnesota.

“We have all seen his physical capabilities before and during the Olympics”, WWE President and Chief Revenue Officer Nick Khan told ESPN. “What we’ve also seen is that Gable has as much charisma as he has ability. Marketing and ability are both of great importance to us.
“It’s just the start line and far from the finish line. So our investment is based on what we think of Gable now and how much bigger we think he can get.”
News of Steveson’s signing with WWE was first reported by Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer.
It’s unclear when Steveson will make his in-ring debut.
