Charles Oliveira reveals his two-step offer for Alexander Volkanovski before 2023
Former UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira is set to face Islam Makhachev for the vacant UFC lightweight title at UFC 280 October 22. Meanwhile, Alexander Volkanovski is the backup/replacement fighter for the match in case Oliveira or Makhachev pulls out due to injury/other reasons.

He claimed he would beat ‘Volk’ in Brazil and then face him again, this time for the featherweight title at UFC 284 in Australia in February:
“If we want that to happen against Volkanovski, we’re going to do it two ways. We’re going to 70 [kg] [lightweight]and then we will fight at 66 [featherweight] at the end of the year…i can fight there [Australia] in February, but for his belt.”
