Fans can’t wait to see Makhachkala’s fighting pride unleash his massive fight against fellow wrestler Nakashima. However, given his opponent’s superior skills on the canvas, Izagakhmaev warned he could rely on other tools to secure his 20th career victory.

“As my opponent is also a wrestling lover, I think I will have to use my hitting skills as well. I can use my elbows, my legs and my boxing as needed ”, said the MMA Academy star.

“Even if I can’t take it down, I won’t focus on something. I’ll beat him up.

His confidence is so high that he thinks winning his debut with ONE is a foregone conclusion. A memorable win should alert the ONE lightweight division as well.

Saygid Izagakhmaev considers James Nakashima the toughest of all lightweight contenders in ONE Championship

Since his deal was made public on Nurmagomedov’s social media last October, Izagakhmaev has studied the approach of the division’s main contenders. Among the stars he analyzed were Division King Ok Rae Yoon, Christian “The Warrior” Lee, Dagi Arslanaliev, Shinya “Tobikan Judan” Aoki, Iuri Lapicus, Timofey Nastyukhin and Nakashima.

He considers Nakashima to be the most formidable fighter of the lot. That’s why he’s ready to take on other top contenders once he defeats the American fighter.

“I’ve already watched all the top ten fighters in the division. I think the toughest of all is James Nakashima, and I will try to approach this fight in my maximum form ”, the 27-year-old noted.

“I want to say to my future opponents: be ready. Be ready for the fight, for the stand-up, [it makes] no difference.”
