After retiring in 2011, Shaq attempted to contact UFC President Dana White to show interest in getting involved with the UFC.

Joe Rogan, who recently made headlines, once said on his podcast that Shaq could never fight in the UFC.
“A guy like that could never fight in the UFC. Because he probably can’t do 265,” said Joe Rogan.
“He should lose about 75 pounds. They said he weighed 330, is that what he weighed?

Shaq wanted to be part of the UFC in some capacity. In fact, while playing for the Lakers, he expressed his desire to fight Hong Man Choi after his retirement. However, this is not possible, since Hong is not active now.

But Shaq is a huge MMA and UFC fan. He watched several fights and recently admitted that UFC athletes are the greatest athletes in the world.
