A San Diego native and half of “The Twin Dragons,” Josh Wang-Kim, will make his Cage Warriors debut next week at CW 130 in his hometown when he takes on Jose Hernandez (4-3).
Wang-Kim enters Cage Warriors with a perfect 3-0 record and holds an extended amateur record, with 15 wins and just one loss before advancing to the pro ranks.
Speaking to Cage Warriors, Wang-Kim revealed that he and his twin brother, John, are going to be the next big stars in MMA: “My brother and I are set to make a splash in this community.
“It’s been a long time coming and we’re really excited to take this sport to new heights.
“We will be the company’s new cash cows! “
First entered in a martial arts dojo at age 16, Wang-Kim has now been involved in martial arts for 12 years. fights both in the pro and amateur ranks, while also revealing the importance of training with his twin brother: “We are lucky to have each other to train.
“We are able to drill together and bounce ideas off each other. “
The Wang-Kim’s have also traveled extensively and in 2019 they had the opportunity to train alongside current UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski in Australia.
“Training with Alexander Volkanovski before he became UFC champion was a huge blessing,” said the 28-year-old; “Her coach, Joe Lopez, and the team are the most amazing and generous people we’ve ever met!
With Cage Warriors providing a proven path to the UFC for 106 fighters and committing to several shows in the state of California next year, Wang-Kim has revealed how easy it is to accept the fight on The CW. 130: “I refused other fights to compete in San Diego.
“It’s my hometown and I’m doing this show for my fans.
