Khamzat Chimaev is about to return to action and is filling his schedule with activities.
After taking the time to recover from a difficult fight with COVID-19 after his busy first year in 2020 which saw him compete three times in just over two months, Chimaev is set to resume action at UFC 267 to take on Jingliang Li.
It looks like the UFC welterweight is already looking to keep busy after his scheduled clash. According to a report by Frontkick.online, Chimaev will face fellow Swedish and UFC fighter Jack Hermansson in a freestyle wrestling match at Bulldog Fight Night 9.
The event is scheduled to take place in Gothenburg, Sweden on November 19. The game will be played at 187 pounds with two three-minute rounds.
Promotion’s Daniel Hogstrom shared a promotional image of the game on his Instagram account on Thursday.
The caption of the post asks the question in Swedish: “Who is the king on the hill?” Chimaev responded in the comments in the same language, simply stating “Me.”
Hermansson, a UFC middleweight, was last in action in May, defeating Edmen Shahbazyan by unanimous decision on the UFC Fight Night 188 main card. He currently has no other UFC fight in May. the horizon.
Chimaev has been on the sidelines since his direct elimination from Gerald Meerschaert in September 2020. He managed to score three wins in just over two months after making his debut before facing the effects of COVID-19.
UFC fighters are not permitted to participate in MMA fights outside of the UFC, however, they are generally permitted to participate in grappling matches.
