Kyle Dake announces transfer to Nittany Lion Wrestling Club


In big senior level wrestling news, Kyle Dake will be joining the Nittany Lion Wrestling Club. Dake announced the move immediately after winning his fourth world title in Belgrade, Serbia.

2022 Senior World Championships

The NLWC is the Regional Training Center (RTC) associated with Penn State University at State College, Pennsylvania.

Dake, now a four-time world champion and 2021 Olympic bronze medalist, has trained primarily at Cornell in Ithaca, New York since beginning his college career there in the fall of 2009. While at Cornell , Dake won four national titles from 2011 to 2015. In June, Dake made his fifth consecutive World or Olympic team. He repeated as 74kg world champion today beating Tajmuraz Salkazanov of Russia/Slovakia in the final 3-1.

The NLWC is currently the most dominant RTC in the country. With a roster including but not limited to Kyle Snyder, David Taylor and Thomas Gilman, they made up 40% of this year’s men’s world freestyle ski team in Serbia. They are coached by Cael Sanderson, Cody Sanderson, Casey Cunningham, Jake Varner, Mark McKnight and Jimmy Kennedy.
