Martial arts superstar has championed the mental health and well-being of Kirkby schoolchildren


Mixed martial arts fighter Paul Daley stopped by West Park Academy School in Kirkby to talk about his career.

The MMA Superstar and K-1 Fighting Champion known as Paul ‘SEMTEX’ Daley, has fought in organizations such as the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship), Bellator and Strikeforce.

He regularly trains children at his Nottingham Spirit Dojo Legacy – Martial Arts and Fitness training center where he teaches K1 / Thai boxing, MMA (mixed martial arts), freestyle wrestling, submission wrestling and boxing.

Paul visited the school as part of his work to support the Active Spirits initiative and also presented the children with their “Warrior of Welfare” certificates, as part of a fitness program they had participated in. .

Active Minds is a community interest company that has been working with the academy since September. Its “Wellbeing Warrior” program, which targeted 5 and 6 year olds, was designed to promote the mental and physical health and well-being of young people.

The organization emphasizes the importance of talking and sharing, as well as being physically active.

During the program, the children participated in activities such as boxing, kickboxing, and fitness challenges to help manage their physical and mental health.

During the visit, Paul also shared his career story with the aim of inspiring young people and also participated in a question and answer session. He also organized a training session for children and presented graduation certificates.
