Midnight Mania! Dana White seeks to bring the UFC into the metaverse

Welcome to Midnight Mania!

What exactly is the metaverse? As this metaverse layman understands, this may be more of a concept than a fully realized location at the moment, but the general idea is to create a vast virtual world with unlimited possibilities and lead to a massive user base. It could be the future of social media and online interactions, a new version of the internet. There are also links to cryptocurrency and NFTs, and maybe UFC fights?

Credit to Dana White, the man is always looking for a new avenue to promote the fights. speaking on The Complete Send Podcast, White explained that the UFC is working to bring fights to the Metaverse.

“We’re looking to do a fight in the metaverse,” White explained (via Essentially Sporty). “We’ve been working on this for a while, whether it’s a live fight, an actual fight that takes place inside the metaverse.”

“It would be that the kids at home could, you know, put your f—king glasses on you and you could f—king get up and go for a walk and you know. We are still working on it, but yes, it will be soon. We’re going to do a fight in the metaverse.

Naturally, this (virtual) experience will come at a cost. White added that fans could buy seats, and he also explained that metaverse fights will also be linked to social media and streaming. At the moment it seems several steps away from a full product, but it will be interesting to see how the UFC moves in that direction.

Francis Ngannou is the latest to join USADA’s ugly jacket club.

On a more interesting note, Ngannou talks about culture shock!

Another highlight from the other half of tomorrow’s main event – it’s hard not to be a fan of both men, in my opinion!

This might just be the best possible fight to have at women’s flyweight. These two ladies can crack!

This stunt looks straight out of Tony Ferguson’s training manual.

Add Khamzat Chimaev to the already huge list of UFC fighters working at Tiger Muay Thai. Good to see them rolling again after Phuket was shut down by COVID-19.

Brandon Moreno is the coolest.

Slips, tears and KO clips

I don’t mean to shock anyone, but the guy who looks a bigger weight class wins this one.

Is kneeling to the face the best setup for a heel hook?

Brutal precision to first dig the toes into the liver, then follow up with another left hand tear.

Random terrain

Make the horse.
