Despite the fact that last night’s hugely successful UFC event is still looming in the rearview mirror, there are some absolutely huge events left in Abu Dhabi in 2021.
There is of course the Abu Dhabi Formula 1 Grand Prix and the Mubadala World Tennis Championship which takes place in December; dates for the annual Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival will likely be announced soon; there is the music of the three festivals in one and the spellbinding spectacular that is FUTUR World; a dizzying collection of cultural and entertainment events held as part of the UAE’s special Golden Jubilee celebrations; a marathon; big name comedy actors (Michael McIntyre – we’re watching you); and there are so many other things that we have heard about but we are not able to tell you otherwise we will have to politely ask you to “shhh”.
New rules
Government guidelines released by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT – Abu Dhabi) on October 13, 2021 called for events in the capital to return to 100% capacity. In order to ensure the safety of all participants, in addition to the obligation to present an active Alhosn Green Pass, visitors must be able to present a negative PCR test obtained within 48 hours.
