O’Malley set to compete in wrestling world team trials in US


LINCOLN, Born. – Drexel Wrestling 174lb standout, Mickey o’malley, is scheduled to compete in the 2021 American Wrestling World Team Trials this weekend at Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Nebraska. The men’s freestyle, women’s freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling champion for the 2021 Senior World Team Trials will represent the U.S. team at the 2021 Senior World Championships in Oslo, Norway from October 2-10.

O’Malley will wrestle in the 79kg weight class and enter the weekend with a No.12 pre-seed. The Hasbrouck Heights, NJ native has competed in a number of events from freestyle during the off season. His most recent results include a second place finish at the Senior Under-23 World Team Trials, a fourth place finish at the US Open and was named the Junior National Champion.
