Quinton Jackson criticizes boxing veteran Shannon Briggs for overusing his ‘let’s go champion’ slogan

Quinton Jackson gave his opinion on former professional boxer Shannon Briggs. “Rampage” suggested that while he found Briggs boring, he didn’t hate the boxing veteran.

Jackson clarified that he was not friends with Shannon Briggs. The former UFC star also criticized Briggs for what he believed to be “The Canon” ‘s excessive use of the slogan “Let’s go, champion!” “

In an edition of MMA time with Ariel Helwani, UFC and Bellator veteran Quinton Jackson opened up on several topics. Helwani noted that he thought “Rampage” and Shannon Briggs were friends. The reporter added that Jackson and Briggs are too funny together and their chemistry is off the charts.

Quinton Jackson agreed with Helwani’s opinion that they were funny together, but stressed that he intended to fight Shannon Briggs. “Rampage” said:

“I think a lot of people think that because I love to laugh. Like, if he says something funny, I’ll laugh. And I’ve never met another fighter who can go back and forth with me, like making fun of each other and stuff like that. You know, he’s an a *** ole? Yes. Is it boring? Yes. Do I hate the guy? No. But, you know, we’re not friends. You know, I think he’s got a big mouth, and I want to shut him up. But this is a first for me; someone who can actually talk shit and (be) funny with it. But the guy is annoying. He says ‘Let’s go, champion!’ way too fucking king. I don’t know how his wife put up with it, or his kids, or whoever lives with him. How do they do?”

Quinton Jackson and Shannon Briggs could face each other in Triller Triad Combat in 2022

Quinton Jackson was the captain of the MMA team, while Shannon Briggs was the captain of the boxing team at last weekend’s Triller Triad Combat event. The event featured special mixed-rule fights featuring talented boxers and MMA fighters on the fight card.

The fights took place inside a triangular ring, with Quinton Jackson and Shannon Briggs cheering on fighters from their respective teams at ringside. Neither Jackson nor Briggs attended the event.

The ground-breaking show was featured by a fight between top heavyweight boxer Kubrat Pulev and former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir. Pulev scored an impressive first round TKO victory over Mir.

In the main co-event, Alexander Flores defeated former UFC heavyweight Matt Mitrione by unanimous decision. Elsewhere on the map, UFC veteran Mike Perry, Derek Campos, Albert Tumenov, Alexa Culp and Harry Gigliotti have emerged victorious.

The consensus is that a Triad Combat fight between Quinton Jackson and former linear boxing heavyweight champion and WBO Shannon Briggs could materialize in 2022.
