Russian UFC star Petr Yan jokes about ‘crazy’ USADA

USADA is back! They regularly visit UFC fighters to test them for banned substances and to keep the fighting game fair and equitable. Additionally, with fighters accusing each other of taking banned drugs and fans becoming more aware of these practices, it becomes even more important for athletes to pass these tests.

There are several MMA fighters who failed such tests and had to bear the brunt of their fans. Thus, Petr Yan is taking all the right steps.

USADA tested Petr Yan again this year (they also visited him in January). The Russian fighter shared this on his Instagram story. Posting a photo of the heavy test kit, Yan wrote, “Usada you are crazy.”

Getting tested is definitely a good thing for the fighter; especially after his rival, Aljamain Sterling claimed that the Russian was using PED. Therefore, “No Mercy” passing the tests and coming out clean seems like a good thing for their upcoming UFC 273 title fight.

Yan and “Funkmaster” fought at UFC 259, but the fight went in a way neither fighter would have imagined. While Yan was disqualified for throwing an illegal knee, Sterling became the new UFC bantamweight champion.

However, Sterling and the fans didn’t seem happy with how it all turned out. Therefore, a rematch is long overdue.

Aljamain Sterling vs. Petr Yan at UFC 273

The two fighters, who have taken shots at each other on social media, will square off in the co-main event of UFC 273. The bout will also mark Sterling’s first title defense. Plus, the rematch will be a good way to see who actually deserves to sit on the bantamweight throne.

UFC 273 will feature Alexander Volkanovski vs. Chan Sung Jung as the main event. So UFC fans are in for a treat with big fights during the company’s April PPV offering.
