Teen prospect Raul Rosas Jr. becomes youngest to sign with UFC – DWCS 2022 Week 9 Results Video

The 9th week of the 2022 season Dana WhiteContender Series (DWCS) was very entertaining with four fantastic finishes from five fights. As far as contracts go, all of tonight’s winners are in. Jafel Filho, Nurullo Aliev, Austen Lane, Brunno Ferreira and 17-year-old Raul Rosas Jr. have all received offers from Dana White to join the UFC.

Closing the show, Brunno Ferreira made quick work of Leon Aliu, rocking him before beating him in just 95 seconds. Both men came to throw hands, but Ferreira was the first to land flush and put Aliu on skates. Ferreira showed tremendous power, aggression and finishing ability to extend his unblemished record to 9-0.

Prior to that, 17-year-old Raul Rosas Jr. showed excellent wrestling skills to earn a unanimous decision over 25-year-old Mando Gutierrez. Raul beat Mando in every round to draw three scores of 30-27 from the judges. Did we mention the 6-0 undefeated fighter is only 17 years old?

Since he was a minor, Rosas needed a special license from the sports commission with parental permission to be able to fight. He is now the youngest fighter to sign with the UFC.

Former NFL player Austen Lane earned a first-round TKO over Richard Jacobi. It was Jacobi who performed the takedown, but Lane managed to pull off a knockdown while fully mounted to gain the upper hand. As Jacobi continued to roll for the armbars, Lane started to drop hammers which quickly ended in a win.

Nurullo Aliev kept his perfect record tactfully stopping Josh Wick in the first round with good old ground and good pound. Aliev had to overcome a first look but navigated the fault well, led the fight to the ground and finished with frantic ground strikes. Nurullo is now 7-0.

Opening the show, Jafel Filho pulled out a third-round TKO on a quiet Roybert Echeverria play. It was a massive left hook that dropped ECheverria, and a rapid fire barrage of ground strikes finished the job. It’s not just Filho’s fifth straight win, it’s also his fifth straight win.
