Tommy Fury blames Jake Paul for continuing to call MMA fighters

Tommy Fury doesn’t understand why Jake Paul cares about boxing UFC fighters.

After Paul took out Tyron Woodley last Saturday, he called up several people including Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz, who are massive stars in the UFC. Still, Fury was hopeful they would resume their fight as the Briton was forced to retire due to a rib injury.

Paul said ahead of Woodley’s rematch that he wasn’t sure if he would replay the Fury fight. And for the Briton, he does not understand what Paul gets by beating wrestlers turned boxers and other MMA fighters. (h / t The Scottish Sun)

“I see he’s come back to calling all these MMA people, I don’t see what he’s trying to achieve by calling the UFC people,” Fury said in one. interview on the promoter’s YouTube channel. “If he wants to be a boxer, then fight a boxer. He continues to fight wrestlers who would kill him in a cage every day of the week. He would beat Nate Diaz and all those other MMA fighters (in a boxing fight) 100% because they’re not boxers.

The fight between Jake Paul and Tommy Fury made sense as they are both social media stars and are both young and undefeated. More importantly, Fury is also a true professional boxer, who many people are clamoring for for Paul to fight.

Fury also made it clear that he wanted to box Paul next and promised that he would have knocked out the YouTuber in the first round if he had boxed Paul last weekend.

“If it was me in the ring on Saturday night, it wouldn’t have come out of the opening bell,” Fury said.

It’s unclear whether or not Tommy Fury vs. Jake Paul will perform. However, it sure looks like Fury still wants the fight, and he’s almost sure it will always be a big pay-per-view if a booking is changed.

Do you think we’ll see Tommy Fury vs. Jake Paul next?
