UFC 2022 event schedule: Charles Oliveira vs. Justin Gaethje, Rob Font vs. Marlon Vera on tap

The UFC continues to deliver on its promise of action fighting. The promotion rolled out in early 2022 with four PPVs already on the books. Interestingly, only one title changed hands during this time with Deiveson Figueiredo edging out Brandon Moreno in their trilogy to regain the championship.

Now the UFC is going through the rest of the spring with a packed schedule of events and a few PPV main events already scheduled for May and June. UFC 274 in May will see a pair of titles on the line when lightweight champion Charles Oliveira looks to defend his crown against fan favorite Justin Gaethje. Additionally, women’s strawweight champion Rose Namajunas looks back on an eight-year rematch when she takes on former champion Carla Esparza. Esparza defeated Namajunas for the inaugural title in 2014.

But before arriving in May, there is still a card available in April. Ranked bantamweights Rob Font and Marlon Vera are on a quest to resubmit themselves among the bantamweight elite. Font had a four-fight winning streak, including victories over former UFC champion Cody Garbrandt and Marlon Moraes, snapped by legendary Jose Aldo in December. Vera, whose last loss also came at Aldo, has momentum behind him after back-to-back wins over Frankie Edgar and Davey Grant. Font exhibits a well-balanced striking game from distance; meanwhile, “Chito” has vicious power on the feet and wicked submissions on the court. Font vs. Vera will headline the UFC Fight Night event in Las Vegas on April 30.
