The UFC continues to deliver on its promise of action fighting. The promotion rolled out in early 2022 with four PPVs already on the books. Interestingly, only one title changed hands during this time with Deiveson Figueiredo edging out Brandon Moreno in their trilogy to regain the championship.
The start of May saw some upheaval in the women’s heavyweight and lightweight divisions. Carla Esparza upset Rose Namajunas to regain the title after nearly eight years away. Also, after losing the title on the scales on Friday, Charles Oliveira caught it up and then some with his victory over Justin Gaethje in the main event of UFC 274. As a rule, he is now the No. ° 1 for the title instead of the champion.

The rest of May is filling out nicely with a pair of battle cards returning to the Apex facility. Light heavyweight contenders Jan Blachowicz and Aleksandr Rakic are set to meet in what could be a title eliminator on May 14. Next, former champion Holly Holm is back when she takes on rising contender Ketlen Viera in a women’s bantamweight main event on May 21.
The next PPV event will be heading to Singapore where the light heavyweight and women’s flyweight titles will be on the line on June 11. Glover Teixeira will put her 205-pound title on the line against top challenger Jiri Prochazka while 125-pound queen Valentina Shevchenko will face her latest challenger in Talia Santos.
