UFC 269 takes place on Saturday, December 11 at a location yet to be announced, but what will be the main event?
The company is reportedly working on a major showdown with the Main Event show, with a stacked sub-card for the last numbered UFC event of 2021.
Here’s everything you need to know about the UFC 269 Main Event and Co-Main Event.
What is the main event of UFC 269
Although not officially confirmed by Dana White or the UFC, Dustin Poirier will travel to the Octagon to face the 155-pound champion, Charles Oliveira.
This will be Poirier’s third fight in 2021, having defeated Conor McGregor in January and June, with the first fight ending via TKO and the second via a doctor stop when McGregor was unable to continue due to a fracture.
Although Poirier beat Notorious 2-1, he added that the Irish fighter is the “biggest puncher” he has ever faced. Speaking to Patrick Bet-David and Valuetainment, he said: “Conor McGregor [packs the heaviest punch], no doubt about it.
“As the biggest puncher I’ve fought?” Yes, for sure he is someone special. I fought him in 2014, lost, and it was on his, you know when his trajectory was the sky’s the limit. He was going up and he tore everyone apart, became a two-weight champion. “

What is the main co-event?
The show’s main co-event, which has been officially announced by the company, will see Amanda Nunes defend her UFC bantamweight title against Julianna Pena.
Pena has been urging the two-division champion to fight for a long time, with UFC President White noting that she is “chasing” him to get the fight staged.
Surprisingly, there’s even a third major title fight on the card, with Brandon Moreno defending his Flyweight title against Deiveson Figueiredo. This will be the third and probably the last fight of their lighter trilogy which promises to be explosive to say the least.
