A heavyweight bout returned to the UFC’s year-end pay-per-view.
Originally scheduled for Oct. 1 at UFC Fight Night 211, Chris Daukaus vs. Jairzinho Rozenstruik returned at UFC 282, which takes place Dec. 10 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Two people with knowledge of the date change informed MMA Junkie of the change but asked to remain anonymous as the promotion has yet to make an official announcement.
Daukaus (12-5 MMA, 4-2 UFC) enters the fight on a two-fight losing slip. His six fights in the UFC ended remotely. The top four were TKO wins over Parker Porter, Rodrigo Nascimento, Aleksei Oleinik and Shamil Abdurakhimov. The next two losses were TKO losses to Derrick Lewis and Curtis Blaydes in the UFC headliners.
Rozenstruik (12-4 MMA, 6-4 UFC) is also looking for a win amid a tough time. After losing three of his last four, Rozenstruik is coming off back-to-back losses to Curtis Blaydes and Alexander Volkov.
With this addition, the UFC 282 lineup includes:
- Robbie Lawler vs. Santiago Ponzinibbio
- Dricus DuPlessis vs. Darren Till
- Chris Daukaus vs. Jairzinho Rozenstruik
- Alexander Hernandez vs. Billy Quarantillo
- Dalcha Lungiambula vs. Edmen Shahbazyan
