The father of boxing heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, John Fury, thinks Tom Aspinall is the best heavyweight to grace the UFC octagon in a long time.

During a conversation with TheMacLife, Fury was asked about Aspinall’s performance at last month’s UFC London event. The 57-year-old praised the Englishman and expressed his wish to be present in Aspinall’s corner when he fights for UFC gold.

“Gorgeous. To me, he’s been the best heavyweight fighter in the UFC for years. Him and his dad have come a long way, like me and Tyson have come a long way, and props for him. I know him for a few years. They “They’re beautiful people. He’s a lovely young man and he has a great family. His father’s support is like mine, undeniable. It’s just going to get better and better. And you look, when this is all over, we’re all going to watch the big night where he’s fighting for that big belt and he’s going to win it.”

Tom Aspinall is undefeated in the UFC

Tom Aspinall has an incredible run in the UFC right now. The 29-year-old has won all five of his Octagon appearances. Aspinall also earned a Performance of the Night bonus for four of those five outings.

Aspinall’s last appearance came on March 19 when he headlined UFC London against Alexander Volkov in a five-round clash. The 12-2 fighter made quick work of Volkov and finished him off via armbar submission in the very first round.

If Aspinall continues to rack up wins like this, it won’t be long before we see the 29-year-old face off in a title fight. When he does, he now knows that John Fury will root him in the octagon side.
