The Irishman is one of the millions of stars who have made their fortune through sport. He is now the highest paid athlete in the world. McGregor, after his UFC debut, topped the division beating some of the best fighters.

During his early years, “The Notorious” seemed invincible and fearless of any of his opponents. Yet he had a very tense movement when meeting one of the world’s greatest leaders, Vladimir Putin.

McGregor met the Russian president at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow on July 15, 2018. He was there to watch France and Croatia face off in the FIFA World Cup final.

During their meeting, the two had a little chat and after that they posed for a photo. However, while posing the former UFC champion put his arm on Putin’s shoulder. This gesture did not please the bodyguard of the Russian president.

And the guard immediately told McGregor to remove his hand. This created an awkward situation. Also, McGregor’s facial expression changed and the fighter looked a little tense.

“The Notorious” had a glorious career in the UFC. However, after his boxing match in 2017, the Irishman saw a huge fall in his career. He has only won one fight in his last four fights.

Later, the Irishman suffered a devastating leg injury in his trilogy fight with Poirier at UFC 264. As a result, the former UFC two-division champion is out of action. However, he has recovered and could soon return to the octagon this year.
